Students use iMovies if on Macs and Monkey Jam if on PC. MonkeyJam has a simple tutorial at the MokeyJam site. The tricky thing about using iMovies is that you can quickly import images onto a server, BUT you have to import the still images onto each computer's iPhoto Library locally so that the images are accessibly by iMovies one each computers. This takes times. It is useful to group each animation sequence into folders identifiable by the student name (this is where it is really useful to have had students photograph a paper listing students roles prior to beginning the shoot of each animation sequence).
