The first two workshops introduce the students to the artifacts and first person accounts of life in Heinlenville. Students discuss the impact of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 on the lives of Chinese in Heinlenville. They immediately get their hands into the project with a dig simulation and Google Earth exploration (Google Earth component was conducted only with Cureton students)
